NEW YORK CITY, -- It takes both connections and business savvy for a young professional to make it in Wall Street. The highly-successful Wall Street Career Night, held early-October at the Rooftop Bar on 5th Avenue, NYC, provided just that on a silver platter. Organized by the Chinese-American business leaders group Wall Street Ren, Career Night provided over 200 Chinese-American graduate students with the opportunity to meet and learn from 30 established Wall Street professionals who served as their mentors for a night. The WSR member-mentors hold leadership positions in some of the leading firms on Wall Street, including Barclays, Lehman Brothers, UBS ..... During Career Night, WSR members were matched with students based on their particular field of interest. The assigned member-mentors counseled students not only about achieving success in their field, but also about being actively involved in public service and philanthropy. "Wall Street is rapidly growing and constantly in need of motivated talents," said WSR member David Zhang, Director of UBS. "Through Career Night, students get to learn first-hand about the inner-workings of Wall Street and, perhaps, jump-start their careers in business and finance." As a non-profit organization, WSR encourages members who hold leadership positions in top Wall Street firms to volunteer for the mentorship program and share their knowledge, experience and insights into the business with aspiring young professionals.
